Job Description

• Design, configure, schedule, and deploy batch jobs according to business requirements and operational standards using enterprise job scheduling tools.
• Continuously monitor batch job execution in mainframe and distributed environments to ensure accurate, timely, and error-free processing.
• Respond promptly to job failures and system alerts, conduct root cause analysis, and execute incident management protocols to minimize operational downtime.
• Maintain thorough and up-to-date documentation for all batch job configurations, schedules, change logs, and incident reports.
• Identify workflow bottlenecks and recommend optimization strategies to enhance the reliability and efficiency of batch processing.
• Collaborate closely with application support teams, system administrators, and business stakeholders to ensure batch jobs align with operational needs.
• Adhere strictly to data center operational policies, security protocols, and industry compliance requirements during all data processing activities.
• Generate and distribute regular reports covering batch job status, performance metrics, and incident trends to upper management.

Requirements

 

• Proven experience as a Batch Operator, Data Centre Operator, or in a similar IT operations role within enterprise environments.
• Strong working knowledge of enterprise batch job scheduling tools such as Control-M, Autosys, or HCL Workload Scheduler.
• Solid familiarity with batch processing environments across both mainframe and distributed systems.
• Basic scripting skills in Shell, Python, or PowerShell for troubleshooting and automating routine operational tasks.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills with high attention to detail while working under pressure.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities to collaborate effectively with cross-functional technical teams.
• Good foundational understanding of ITIL processes and incident management procedures is preferred.
• Industry certifications such as ITIL Foundation, Control-M, or HCL Workload Scheduler are highly advantageous.

 

Others

 

• Working schedule involves 12-hour shifts averaging 40 hours per week (3 to 4 shifts per week).
• Shift work is required, including nights, weekends, and public holidays to support 24/7 continuous data center operations.
• Candidates must be able to respond promptly to critical system incidents outside regular working hours.
