Business Analyst, BCP (Financial Industry)

Job Description

• Participate in Project Implementation and various stages across System Development Life-Cycle aligning with business needs across the group
• Interfacing with business users and gathering business requirements and assist with translating it to technical specifications
• Act as the BCP coordinator to govern continuous revision with the BCP processes and procedures to meet evolving business landscape
• Perform user account administration across various application systems
• Collaborate closely across teams within IT to formulate problem identification statements from business request with accurate problem analysis to establish valid business case
• Assist and perform CBA to validate proposed design is purpose-fit prior to commencing embankment on construction
• Research and adopt technologies that streamline and automate manual process where applicable to enhance productivity
• Assist in researching as well as maintaining existing partnership with 3rd parties/vendors ensuring deliverables
• Participate in problem investigation, operational reviews, business processes re-engineering and systems development / enhancement
• Assist in the development, update and follow-up of business related policies procedures for system solutions as well as coordination with Internal/External Auditors with information gathering during audits
• Coordinate BCP activities, not limited to updating related documentation and execution of various BCP exercises
• Collaborate with teams across IT, business stakeholders as well as external vendors on system modification / enhancement
• Coordinate with business users in exercising User Acceptance Test (UAT) on bug fix /enhancement across application systems
• Act as secondary system administrator to perform user accounts administration on the various Infrastructure/Application systems
• Provide business application systems' support and related projects, meeting and training in local areas and overseas, may be required to travel outside Hong Kong if necessary
• Responsible for supporting business in submitting regulatory reports through systems
• Provide secondary support to business systems change promotion in accordance with the instruction approved by Department Head
• Strictly adhere to the Company policies, procedures and ethical requirement, ensuring the daily operation activities are ethical and legal
• Support and participate in various ad hoc assignment or projects

Job Requirements

• Degree in Information Technology or related disciplines
• 7 years Information Technology experience in Banking/Finance and/or Accounting industry with strong systems implementation exposure
• Good business and logical senses and working knowledge of information technology , information security and system development methodology in financial services
• Working experience with Excel, SQL, PowerShell and scripting tools
• Sound knowledge in software development, working experience with Agile or similar desired
• Good understanding of the business functions and technologies/tools adopted in the Company
• Strong analytical and problem solving ability and be able to think “out-of-the-box”
• Solid communication and interpersonal skills
• Good coordination and negotiation skills
• “Self-starter” mindset with a strong desire to research and adopt the right tool to enhance business operations and increase productivity
• Good command of English and Chinese (Putonghua is an advantage).
