Job Description

Engineer (Communication Systems Operations & Maintenance)

 

Responsibilities

 

• Installation, testing commissioning, operation, preventive and 24-hour corrective maintenance for the Communication Systems for the Air Traffic Control (ATC) Systems of Hong Kong Civil Aviation Department (CAD) to ensure the flight safety and efficiency.
• Effectively carry out / participate in the installation, testing and commissioning of CAD systems to meet the specifications and required standards
• Ensure specified CAD / ICAO standards according to the prescribed maintenance procedures
• Ensure that high reliability and availability of communication services are met within ICAO / CAD specifications
• Maintain minimum ATC system service outage within his/her watch by ensuring conversant system recovery procedure among his team members
• Optimize/prioritize resource allocation in the event of multiple system outage to minimize the impact to the overall ATC services
• Manage the allocated resources in the most cost-effective way
• Improve the system availability by analysis of technical problems and making recommendations
• Design and construct replacement parts for obsolete systems
• Maintain adequate spare parts by analysis consumption trends and lead time required
• Report on general conditions of all stations and accept repair works by contractors on behalf of CAD
• Maintain an up-to-date knowledge on related technologies to be able to provide high quality services and advice

 

Assistant Engineer (Air Traffic Control Systems Operations & Maintenance or Projects)

 

Responsibilities

 

• Carry out or assist in planning and organizing maintenance and project works for IT-based air traffic control (ATC) systems and its support facilities at airport and ancillary buildings in Hong Kong for Civil Aviation Department (CAD).
• Assist in conducting, planning, organizing and supervising the maintenance/repair works for ATC systems/equipment and conducting system review to ensure system reliability and availability.
• Lead team to carry out fault diagnosis and provide rectification plan/solution as well as investigation report.
• Prepare solution for project tender bidding and lead team to manage and implement project including drafting design submission, requirements for materials/service procurement, supervision of sub-contractors installation works, preparation of test plan/report, conduct testing and commissioning and conduct training to client and maintenance personnel.
• Assist in progress monitoring, financial monitoring and control of projects to ensure satisfactory completion of project within budget and schedule and prepare project/works progress reports for submission.
• Coordinate with various internal and external parties such as AAHK, EMSD, HKO, vendors/suppliers, sub-contractors and so on for project, operations and maintenance work

 

Senior Technical Officer

 

Responsibilities

 

• Carry out equipment installation, testing, commissioning, operations and maintenance of Air Traffic Control systems for the Hong Kong International Airport, including radar systems, navigational systems, communication systems, power supply systems, database/IT systems & networks located dispersedly in Hong Kong
• Perform regular system status monitoring.
• Perform scheduled preventive maintenance.
• Perform corrective maintenance including fault diagnosis, system restoration and repair To perform on-site equipment installation, testing, commissioning of equipment.
• Supervise and monitor works of sub-contractors.
• Respond to aircraft incidents/accidents in accordance with established procedures.
• Carry out regular functional check and stock taking of operational spares of equipment.
• Prepare and update maintenance documentation and records.

 

Job Requirements

Engineer (Communication Systems Operations & Maintenance)

 

Requirements

 

• Academic/Professional Qualifications and Working Experience - (a) University degree/ Higher Diploma in Electronics Engineering or equivalent, AND (b) With at least 6 years of working experience in air traffic control systems engineering, 3 years of which is in supervisory position for operating and maintaining the air traffic control systems for international airport(s) OR (c) With at least 8 years of working experience in operating and maintaining the ATC systems for international airport(s), 4 years of which is in supervisory position.
• Knowledge/Expertise , Sound knowledge in: (a) Air Traffic Control (ATC) Systems (b) Electronics and/or Radio Techniques for Air Traffic Control(ATC) Systems (c) Information & Communication Technologies, including VHF, microwave communication, data communication and etc
• 3. Relevant Personal Attributes/Skills - (a) Good presentation skills with ability to delivery technical subjects systematically and logically. (b) Dedicated interest in technical training. (c) Effective interpersonal, presentation and communication skills. (d) Problem solving abilities under pressure. (e) Effective decision making.

 

Assistant Engineer (Air Traffic Control Systems Operations & Maintenance or Projects)

 

Requirements

 

• Higher Diploma or above in Electronics/ Electrical/ Telecommunication/ Computer/ Information Engineering or other related disciplines with at least 4 years relevant work experience in mission critical services/system
• Degree holder in Electronic/Electrical/Telecommunication/Information Engineering or other related disciplines with at least 2 year’s solid and proven working experience in design, building, testing and commissioning of electronic systems in projects for mission critical system will also be considered.
• Open-mindedness, proactive, result and service oriented with strong leadership, analytical, communication and interpersonal skills.
• Able to work independently under pressure with strong desire and commitment to deliver high quality of works in short notice.
• Good spoken and written English and Chinese. Knowledge of Putonghua is an advantage Proficient in MS Office.

 

Senior Technical Officer

 

Requirements

 

• Bachelor in Electronic / Electrical / Computer Engineering/ Computer Science / Information Engineering/ Information Technology or equivalent.
• 1 year relevant experience.
• Good command of spoken and written English and able to communicate in Putonghua is an advantage.
• Problem solving skills, work independently and under pressure and attentive to details.
• Good interpersonal & communication skills.
• On-the-job training will be provided.
• 24-hours shift duty, irregular working hours including Sunday, Pubic Holidays and overnight and outdoor works are required.
